Starting the new year out right. Getting rid of things. Selling things on craigslist. Doing a little hula hooping on the Wii (perhaps a bit embarrassing to admit it, but true …)

Thinking about starting up a New Feng Shui and Money Class for the New Year.

Started out a cleansing diet on January 1st, going well so far. Eating mostly rice, potatoes, chicken, Cornish hen, beef, peas, edamame (soybeans), avocado, smoked salmon and rice crackers.

Spent a little time in Whole Foods, or Whole Paycheck as we may refer to it sometimes. They do have great stuff, and it sure is pricey, too! Started taking probiotics and ordered Colonix (a colon cleansing kit).

Got some new prints framed and hung up on the walls at home. Starting the new year in a really great way.

And, also got a new vehicle, well new to me. Love my new 2008 4 door Jeep with less than 11,000 miles on it.

Doing lots of good financial things to increase my wealth and make money grow. Looking for Rewards Checking Accounts, mostly on Money-Rates.com, to move money to and get the highest APY / APR possible.

Got a car loan for the new Jeep to help re-bulid credit as well.

All in all … looking forward to a fabulous 2010!!

my feng shui is working …

November 19, 2009

I’m pleased to say my feng shui is working. It’s been several months since I’ve actively updated my site and been blogging. After the Feng Shui and Money course that I taught earlier this year, changes started happening very rapidly. I’ve moved. I’m in a new home. My life has been transforming …

I’ve been keeping busy with many things, piano lessons, getting ready for ski and snowboarding season, and going to first grade school events. Had a good scuba diving trip to Maui, Hawaii. Dove with manta rays at night, dove with eagle rays in the daytime, saw frog fish and many other sea creatures.

Just a couple short weeks after my Hawaii scuba diving trip, we moved two households into one. This summer was full of packing, selling things, thowing things away, donating items, unpacking, sorting, organizing and de-cluttering!

I am back from a terrific 3 day hiking adventure along the coast. It was great to get outside, to spend three whole days by the ocean and get the chi moving smoothly though my body!

The beach was beautiful, rugged and very remote. It took 9 hours to drive to the coast from Reno, Nevada and it was worth every bit for the three days of hiking on and along the beach. Sadly, we probably saw more dead sea lions than people over the three days of hiking.

The balance of yin and yang energy over the three days was terrific. The first day was a hot sunny day that resulted in a good deal of sunburn. The second day was rainy, misty and foggy. We were drenched and dripping most of the day hiking, and yet it was beautiful and a wonderful change from the previously hot sunny day. The third day was sunny and blue skies again.

It was great to get outside. You have a new perspective on the Feng Shui in your home when you return from spending several days outside.

I’m delighted that it’s Friday! I have a Feng Shui Consultation scheduled for a home in southern Reno this Sunday.

The first thing I asked of the people was to identify what they hope to accomplish or take away from the consultation.

I’ll be sure to update the blog after the consultation!

another day

August 4, 2009

I am feeling a bit sad and disappointed with myself for slacking off on my blog posts. So much has happened over the last few months, I am not even sure where to begin.

I now live in a new home. I made many changes where I was living before and boy did the universe deliver. You know the old saying “Be careful what you ask for” … because you just might get it!

We completed the first go round of the Feng Shui and Money course. I am very blessed to have met such great people and to have gained more insight in life. I have seen great changes for them and for me. Life has handed me my next lesson, too. It said … “So you want to try to control your world with Feng Shui … well try to feng shui this…!” and it proceeded to hand me a bunch of stuff that I couldn’t feng shui my way out of. Feng Shui is a great tool to look inside ourselves, it’s not a way to CONTROL life. And so, here I am, living one day at a time and dealing with life’s little lessons bit by bit.

It’s so important to remember that we don’t control the “how” of what things happen. We control very little. And if I ever figure out how to be ok with that … well, I’ll be truly delighted!

Tonight at 7:00 PM there is a raw food and vegetarian pot luck along with a showing of a Conscious Prosperity DVD at the Vajra Temple and Lounge in Reno. I’m not sure if I can make it. It sounds great and so I wanted to let the rest of you know about it!

It was a good weekend. I went to two Tee Ball games, did a great Feng Shui consultation, went to a baby shower in Truckee, got to see LIVE at the Silver Legacy, saw the new Star Trek movie, did laundry, and watched most of Benjamin Buttons before falling asleep.

I didn’t think that I’d done much this weekend until I just wrote it all out … concert, out to movies, feng shui consultation, housework, and more! I guess I did get a few things accomplished and I did many fun things too!

The consultation was great. We focused on the wealth (Hsun) and the travel (Chien) areas of the home and of each room in the home. We did a little bit with the fame and repuation (Li) areas as well. We moved some candles into the Li Bagua area of the home. We moved some clutter and a rocking chair (tippy … not stable & secure) out of the wealth (Hsun) Bagua of the master bedroom, which also happens to be in the wealth (Hsun) sector of the whole home. We moved a very beautiful and valuable light into the wealth corner instead. And, there’s now room on the wall for a beautiful framed image of something that represents wealth and luxury to the inhabitants.

We moved some items that were meaningful souvenirs from Mexico to their travel Bagua of the home. We also moved a couple images of the Virgin Mary and an angel to the travel / mentors / helpful people (Chien) Bagua area. We took a nice wine refrigerator and moved it into the wealth corner of their dinning room, along with some expensive pottery that they can use as a piggy bank in that area. We talked about having one of their children put a quarter into a piggy bank as a daily routine to represent saving and create a positive habit.

There were many other changes as well. It was great to work with people who wanted to make a change and have already implemented additional Feng Shui cures since our consultation on Saturday morning!

Another great Feng Shui Consultation in Reno and more great things to look forward to! I can’t wait to hear about all the great things that happen as a result of their changes and efforts.

a quick note

May 7, 2009

Thanks to those who took the Feng Shui Bagua poll ! From the handful of replies I got back it’s clear that people are interested in how Feng Shui can help with money, career, love and health.

I will be putting up posts on those subjects along with updates of how our Feng Shui and Money workshop in Reno is progressing.

And oh, I wanted to share a page of the book we’re working from as well. Check out page 30 and page 31 of Feng Shui and Money by Eric Shaffert.

Here’s a closer look at page 31 with a bagua map and a little introduction to the prosperity journals we have begun using.

I’m trying to get a better idea of what kind of posts you’d like to read about and what area of your life you’d most like to see a change in. If you could only pick one area to work on at this time in your life, what would it be?

Please take this Feng Shui Bagua poll & let me know! Once I’ve got a better sense of what interests you, then I’ll share Feng Shui advice about the most popular topics first.

You can come back and check the answers as people reply, too!

I was just reading Karen Morton’s blog and noticed that she recently posted the poem ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling. I just got goose bumps all over ….

This poem was one of Marilyn’s favorite poems. She passed away last November. Even though my actual biological mother lives in NYC, Marilyn was a mother to me since I was 11 years old. She was my grandfather’s third wife, and was the most amazing woman I’ve ever met. She was an angel in a human body.

When I came across the poem today, I knew I had to share it with all of you!

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream–and not make dreams your master,
If you can think–and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings–nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And–which is more–you’ll be a Man, my son!

–Rudyard Kipling
